Become a Member

Associate Members

a) Associate Members shall be other medical practitioners, technologists, nurses and other health professionals and allied health professionals who share the objectives of the Society.

b) Applicants for Associate Membership shall submit requests to the Secretary of the Tanzania Cardiac Society.

c) Associate Member shall be allowed to attend Tanzania Cardiac Society General Meetings and, but will NOT be eligible to vote or be elected to any office.

d) A leader/spokesman will be appointed by the Associate Member Group, to thereby represent Associate Members, at Tanzania Cardiac Society Executive Committee Meetings solely on request by these two bodies but will NOT be eligible to vote or be elected to any office.

Honorary Members

a) Honorary Member shall be persons of distinction in medicine, who have contributed to the advancement of knowledge in the cardiovascular field, or others who have rendered special meritable service to the Society.

b) Honorary Membership may be recommended to the Executive Committee of the Tanzania Cardiac Society

c) Honorary Membership shall be considered by The Executive of the Tanzanian Cardiac Society who, after due consideration, may nominate a person so recommended for Honorary Membership and request that the nomination be ratified by the next General Assembly.

International Members

a) International Members shall be cardiologists, pediatrics cardiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons, as well as specialist physicians, pediatricians, anesthesiologists’ surgeons and other healthcare specialists whose professional interest is the treatment and study of cardiovascular disease or research in this or allied fields, who are not citizen either residing or not residing in the United Republic of Tanzania.

b) International members shall not be entitled to vote or hold office in the Society.

Corporate Members

a) Corporate Members shall be persons, or, more commonly, organizations, whose primary interest with the Society is to provide financial support, be it for personal or business interests.

b) Corporate members may also engage in commercial activities with the Society. However, it must be clarified in writing prior to acceptance of corporate membership, that no political or financial influence can be exerted on the Society by this membership.

c) Corporate membership shall be subject to strict auditing procedures of Tanzania Cardiac Society.

d) Applications for membership (continue as per other memberships above, except to add this ethical type of declaration attached to corporate memberships).

e) Corporate members may attend all AGA.

f) Corporate members may be invited, as per the discretion of the President and Executive Committee, to attend selected Executive Committee Meetings; where this is deemed important.
